So recently I toured Boxpark and the first thing that crossed my mind was you peeps! I got to visit several boutiques, cafes, restaurants and even tried some ice cream! The first place I stopped by was Marimekko, which is a retail store and as well has an indoor cafe.
The Marimekko Café menu can be described as simple and health conscious and include a variety of wholesome breakfast options and seasonal Scandinavian ingredients for soups, salads, and sandwiches. The Marimekko Café is also perfect for children, with fun and safe outdoor play areas and menu options such as mini cheese burgers, chicken sausages, salmon fillet, meatballs and pasta.
Next stop was Bianca Mozzarella & Co! The innovative idea is that the shop is supplied by local dairy production. Raw materials and know how are strictly Italian, the daily production is made on site. In this way every customer has the opportunity to eat or buy fresh and healthy dairy products or taste them through the best authentic Italian recipes. The menu is a reflection of deep dedication to quality, craftsmanship and excellence and comprised of highly selected ingredients, with an emphasis on organic and P.D.O. raw materials.
When compared to other cheeses, buffalo mozzarella has a lower quantity of cholesterol. Its cholesterol content does not exceed 50‐60 mg per 100g serving.
Rich in Omega-3
Buffalo mozzarella contains high quantity of Omega‐3 fatty acids. Omega‐3 are supportive to many different body functions. It helps keep the skin normal and balanced, the prevention of heart disease, as well as for brain support.
Buffalo mozzarella has fewer calories than other cheese, but it’s rich in animal proteins making it a good alternative to meat or fish.
Finally after a long walk around Boxpark, I stopped by a famous Italian gelato store known as Dri Dri. Even though they serve a wide variety of gelatos, I decided to stick to the basics for today, chocolate. This particular flavour isn’t your typical chocolate flavour, it’s called Cioccolato (it comprises of whole organic milk, white sugar cane (sucrose), cocoa (22/24), grape sugar (dextrose), whipping cream, powdered skim milk, carob flour). For those dark chocolate lovers, they also have Cioccolato Extra Noir which is a little more bitter.
Another exciting boutique that I visited was Urbanist Store. It’s by far one of the most unique and fun store to be in. From stylish clothes to funky accessories or even vintage furniture, this store has the works! Definitely a place to visit.
