I recently met with Amira Haroon, one of the Middle East’s most talented designers, known for her pieces designed for women on-the-go pieces. Founded in 2011, Amira Haroon’s collections have not only been showcased at all major fashion weeks such as Paris Fashion Week, New York Fashion Week and Fashion Forward Dubai but has also won ITP Regional Designer of the Year award. Amira Haroon’s signature pieces fuse modernity with cultural influences and truly bring out the essence of a modern day woman. The label has been singled out by both Grazia and Harper’s Bazaar magazines as one of the most promising designers of the future in the Middle East. Seasonal fashion presentations have been featured on Vogue Arabia and as well as features in Marie Claire and Elle magazines.
Both the Seijun dress and the Lulu top are pieces that immediately spoke to me from the Spring Summer 2017 collection. From a royal blue palette to the ruffles, this collection is one you must not miss! To view more pieces from the collection, please click here.
For the Seijun dress, I specifically like the scallops along the neckline and the added ruffles at the bottom of the dress. Both these additions bring out a blend of cultural throwbacks! The dress comes with a white belt (made of silk organza) that I styled by tying into a knot to emphasize my waist line. I paired this dress with a gold reflective pair of shades, beige boots and pop of red on my lips.

The moment I got my eyes on the Lulu top, I knew I had to try it on! I found the pearls to be a perfect addition to the top. The strands of pearls can either be used to tie as straps to the back or keep them on the border of the neckline to bring emphasis on the off-shoulder design. I paired this top with an off-white mini skirt, patent leather boots and silver accessories.
The Lulu top is available at Bloomingdales Kuwait and Larishka Boutique, Lebanon (email firstname.lastname@example.org to order).
For this post, I decided to style both pieces more for a party or a night out. However, what’s great about both these pieces is that they can be easily styled for a day out or even to the office. I think the Seijun dress dressed with a pair of summer sandals and a chic hat would be perfect for a day out shopping or brunch. On the other hand, the Lulu top would be a great addition to your office wardrobe, paired with a black jacket and a black pencil skirt. Looking for inspiration?
